Bikebook
Bikebook is a UK based company that aims to revolutionise the bike repair market for bicycle mechanics and cyclists. Customers can find mechanics near them, browse their services and book in their bike for repairs or services.
It gives mechanics a backend system to manage incoming bookings, schedule their services & pickup drop-off routes, communicate with customers across email, WhatsApp, and chat as well as request service and part approval from customers via the platform.
Customers are able to see the status of their job as well as any requests that they can approve or decline that come in from mechanics for replacement parts, services etc…

Klikk App
The Klikk app was created as a bespoke solution for a property company that managed mostly student accommodation in university areas.
It allowed tenants (students) to easily see any relevant information about the property such as lease agreement, monthly debits, house rules, view important info such as alarm or wifi passwords as well as log any property issues. Tenants could track the status of their logged issues to see if someone was assigned and when they were booked to come out and fix any issues.

Hungerrush - Restaurant SAAS & ordering app
The client wanted to reimagine and improve their online ordering and restaurant SaaS. As well as launch a new product - food ordering aggregator.
The main goal was to:
Refresh the overall look and feel
Improve overall usability for consumers
Add additional features to improve the product offering
Build for cross platform: web, mobile, PWA, native app and kiosk
Create an aggregator food app (like UberEats/Doordash)

The product itself provides the platform for restaurants to create an online ordering experience for their customers across mobile and web. Think Wix for restaurants.
We needed to keep in mind that the solution and design choices we made would need to fit numerous use cases for various restaurants and accommodate multiple requirements as a restaurant owner would be able to choose between a variety of themes and styles that would then be applied throughout the channels.
I worked closely with the product team to identify key business goals as well as running user testing with consumers to understand their drivers and needs when it came to online ordering.

FMI - Financial Advisor & Brokerage Portal
The goal of this project was to digitise the financial advisor and brokerage application process.
This was, at the time, a completely manual and paper only process. Which meant a lot of emails, in person visits, phone calls and man-hours.
This was a short, but fun project where I worked closely with business leadership as well as underwrites and the application processing team to understand every step that needed to be taken and how to streamline the process.

The key pain points were:
Information overload (lots and lots of papers to read and fill in)
Insufficient supplementary documentation
I focused on breaking the application process into more focused and less overwhelming parts. The other challenge to overcome was the need for supplementary documentation, which was often (if not always) forgotten and added an extraordinary amount of back-and-forth. I tackled this by adding greater CTA's and outstanding documentation reminders, as well as adding the ability to upload them within the digital application process.
The financial advisor portal also needed to be accessible on mobile web, so the designs and usability focused on both.
Absa/ Barclays Banking app
The Absa (Barclays) Banking app and digital wallet provides a unified digital solution for Absa banking customers throughout Africa.
This was a ground-up project and every feature and user flow had to be created from scratch for mobile.
My role in this project was Senior UX designer, and as I was the sole UX designer I had to work extremely closely with the BA, project and tech teams. I also crafted the apps UX copy and engagement (with final sign off from business).
The mobile wallet gave customers the following features:
Account overview
Peer to peer money transfers
Loans
Airtime purchases
Utility bill payments
Proximity and remote merchant payments
Banking Services like account transfers
Wallet to Bank transfer
Bank to wallet transfer
Account balance enquiry
Mini statements
Savings goals
Insurance
KYC Compliance
Biometrics

Process
I started with understanding the business requirements - which was specced out by BA and Product Owners.
Understanding country specific requirements - as we were building the app for 5 different countries each had their own additional unique requirements and flows that needed to be considered.
Task flows / User Journeys - after gathering all necessary requirement information I started on creating user journeys and task flows. These were then presented to each countries team for feedback and regulation/security approval. Iteration were made where necessary.
Wireframing - after the journeys and task flows were thoroughly understood I started on the wireframing. This processes was again iterative and shared with the necessary teams to make sure nothing was overlooked or missed.
Brighter Monday - Jobs Platform Gamification
This was a fun project I worked on for BrighterMonday, one of our job seeking and recruitment platforms at Ringier One Africa Media.
Problem:
Incomplete job seeker profiles = unhealthy candidate database for employers.
Objective:
Increase job seekers profile completion We want ALL of our seekers to have complete Career Profiles. This not only helps seekers when applying for jobs, but gives our platforms a richer database and helps us match employers and seekers more accurately.
Research:
From our survey and from telephonic interviews with seekers we discovered that users struggled with knowing HOW to complete their profiles, didn’t have the required information AND found the whole process demotivating and got nothing out of it (because they already had a CV).
Solution:
Our first objective we chose to focus on was the ‘motivation’ factor. In the past we have tried pushing the message to seekers to complete their profile because it helps them when applying for jobs. Simply telling them to do something because it helps them doesn’t seem to be doing the trick though.
Besides for bombarding seekers with stronger messaging, how could we motivate them to complete their profile? How could we help them answer the ‘What’s in it for me?’ question they had?
Gamification was our answer to that question!
Seekers would now be able to access all of our previously paid for features for free, but with a catch… In order to ‘unlock’ the features they will have to complete their profiles.
Seekers will now be motivated to complete their profiles and unlock features incrementally as they go. We are also changing our terminology from Premium too Plus.
Plus features will be unlocked at the different stages below:
Notifications - Unlocked at 50%
Download Career Profile as CV - Unlocked at 80%
Boosted Job Application & Highlighted Candidate - Unlocked at 100%
We hoped that this would encourage seekers to complete their profile. And we hoped that by giving seekers more, they will give us more.
With this gamification change we also added some beautiful pop-up modals to congratulate seekers whenever they unlocked a feature. This further reinforced the positive behaviour with regards to completing their profile.
Results:
Within the first month we increased profile completion rates by 5x the previous rate (going from 1000 completed job seeker profiles to 5000)
